General concept

These creatures spin the cocoons used for space travel and spreading throughout the galaxy. They might be a bit spiderlike, but might be different (as jorrit said) They are very important to the Ch'thda race.

Combat

These creatures can throw webs or strands of web. But more importantly they can throw other chemicals/acid/poison. (They are like walking chemical plants creating a complex cocoon so it would make sense.)
